Fall Session - 2010
The Green and Gold Soccer Academy – Fall Session 2010The Green and Gold Soccer Academy – Fall Session 2010 and #1 Goalkeeper School will begin in early September and continues through October. Intended for the more serious soccer players, boys and girls aged 9-16, the academy program is structured to facilitate the development of players seeking to compete at higher levels whether that be club, provincial select team, national or professional in the future.
Please scroll down to bottom of this page for registration form in pdf format.
The academy aims to provide a soccer program whose coaching process is based on solid youth development coaching principles, delivered by professional and experienced coaches utilizing superior soccer facilities.
A recent development has seen club teams register for the academy. This is certainly encouraged, as it allows team development and the opportunity for coaching development - whereby the club coach is invited on the field for all practices with a view to observing our academy sessions, practice organization and coaching emphasis.
The academy provides age appropriate training for the U-10, U-12, U-14 and U-16 age levels that will feature 1- 2 practice sessions per week. The program provides 10 practices of professional instruction from the academy’s principal coaches supported by a number of Golden Bears and Pandas soccer players. The academy’s principal coaches include Len Vickery, Kurt Bosch, Niki Vignjevic, Alex Dickson and are supported by Golden Bears and Pandas soccer players. Academy players will be assigned to a group based on age and/or ability.
As part of the #1 Goalkeeper School all goalkeepers will be provided with specialized instruction in all aspects of this demanding position. The Golden Bears and Pandas goalkeepers will assist the academy goalkeeper coaches in providing the very best instruction for youth goalkeepers.
Each training session will feature soccer specific fitness training in the development of agility, coordination, quick feet, core strength, endurance, speed and power. The fitness or physical development is combined with technical and tactical training with a view to providing the youth player the optimum opportunity for soccer skill enhancement.
The deadline for registration is Tuesday, September 7, 2010. However, interested parents and/or players are advised to register now, as space is limited.
The total cost of each session is $300. Following registration of one family member, any additional family registrations would be eligible for a 20% discount - additional family members pay $240.
A Team discount is available and is applied when 15-18 players seek to register from one team - each player pays $240. A Group discount is applied when 6 or more players seek to register from one team - each player pays $260
The Team or Group discount ONLY applies if all registration/waiver forms and payments are submitted or faxed to the Activity Registration Zone at the same time. Please note: no additional players can be added to an original submission and each player requires a completed Registration and Informed Consent form. Please find a copy of each below in pdf!
